10 days okay. I did Tokyo/Kyoto + 1 night stay at Shirakawa-Go + 1 Osaka day trip with 9 days (technically 8 full days since the last day is literally fly back to SG in early morning). But then I skipped quite a few "common tourist places" in Tokyo because my friend and I more interested in Kyoto.

Not difficult to navigate between places la. Japan transport system quite tokong. Feels overwhelming at first, but you'll get used to it fast.

At least JR doesn't breakdown... and is more reliable than the zippers on our pants and the alarms in our clocks.

Shirakawa-go is more towards nagoya side, From tokyo down maybe a bit far but staying one night doesn't seem you can do much there. It is nice, but I personally feel it doesn't warranty a night's stay.
