This Japanese old couple is fairly rich but already so worried about future. What concerns me even more is that I noticed a worrying trend among Singaporean youngsters. Some do not support their parents financially at all or the allowance is too little. In my opinion, parents' allowance should rank higher than vacation expense and car expense. I had a young colleague who honestly revealed she does not give her parents allowance. I think she has reasonably good character. She said she will surely give his parents money if they need help. I kept quiet initially. Then, I cannot help but tell her ... do you want to subject your parents to humiliation by waiting for them to open their mouth to ask for money from children? I said it may be a better idea to give regularly. Do not do unto others what you do not want others to do unto you.
